NATURAL BEAUTY Nature is the ultimate source of design inspiration and called upon by furniture designers, architects, interior designers and craftsmen around the world. The remote southern forests of New Zealand, rich in colour and a diverse and abundant habitat provide us with an environmentally sustainable supply of Maple Beech - The Natural Beauty. SPECIES and PRODUCT QUALITIES Lindsay & Dixon's native Beech hardwoods are attractive products with a fine, even grain and density. They perform extremely well where both strength and appearance is required. The supply of Maple Beech for the Athens Olympic Torch and the Wellington Supreme Court is a creditable and worthy recognition for this fine timber. Advanced processing and kiln drying technologies set Lindsay & Dixon's Beech timber apart from other supply sources in terms of quality and consistency. Maple Beech - botanical species Nothofagus menziesii (previously known as Silver Beech) has good machining, gluing, bending, strength, and finishing properties. The timber has excellent carving and shaping characteristics making it ideal for woodturning, brushware, dowel, curtain rods, handles and other similar products. Certain feature grades are well suited for parquet and strip flooring, wall panelling, and furniture and cabinet making. High quality speciality items of decorative veneer are sourced from the very best log our resource has to offer.
